MicroJot does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. The extension operates entirely within your browser using the chrome.storage.local API. No data is sent to any server, third-party service, or external system.
All notes, mood tags, and preferences are stored locally on your device in your browser's extension storage. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly export it using the built-in export feature.
MicroJot does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or authenticate in any way. There is no user identification.
MicroJot does not use any analytics tools, tracking pixels, cookies, or telemetry. No usage data is collected.
MicroJot does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or cloud platforms. All functionality is self-contained within the extension.
MicroJot requests only the minimum permissions required:
No access to browsing history, tabs, websites, camera, microphone (beyond optional voice input within the extension popup), or any other sensitive browser APIs.
If you use the voice input feature, speech recognition is handled by your browser's built-in Web Speech API. Audio is processed locally by your browser and is not sent to any external service by MicroJot.
You can export all your notes at any time as a JSON file. You can also import previously exported data. This ensures you always have full control over your data.
Uninstalling the MicroJot extension from your browser will remove all locally stored data. You can also clear your data at any time by clearing your browser's extension storage.
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Given MicroJot's local-first architecture, any future version will maintain the same zero-data-collection principle.
